That would be me, Cory!

I’m an engineer with a passion for gardening and sharing knowledge.

I am very much a proponent of being hands-on with your garden, as I believe it is not possible to have continued success without knowing and checking your plants yourself. But I wasn’t satisfied with having to worry about when to turn on fans and heaters, pumps, lights, and humidifiers. You know, all that irritating stuff. By combining my strong interests in electronics and gardening, I gradually developed an automated system capable of maintaining and monitoring any garden using microcontrollers, sensors, and wireless controlled outlets. And the hydroMazing was born!

Lightshow:  Using an Arduino Nano on an expansion board with a push-button to change the color palette mode of the RGB LED strip.  A microphone module is used to detect sound and alter the speed of flashing lights. torchesLightshow
SoundFXLight:  Using an Arduino Nano on an expansion board with two push-buttons, one to change the color palette mode of the RGB LED strip, the other selects the sound effect from a WT588D voice module with speaker.  An 8×7 segment display is used to display the current selection. A microphone module is used to detect sound and a PIR module is used to detect motion. SoundEffects
Slot Machine:  Using an Arduino Nano on an expansion board with two push-buttons.  One button adds credits, the other button activates the spin. One strip of RGB lights enhances the artwork used in the display.  Sound effects are provided by a WT588D voice module with speaker. Three (3) x LED Matrices (8 x 8) resolution make the reels and an 8 digit 7-segment display module for the credits. IMG_20180726_072519070
